West Ham United have announced the permanent signing of French defender Jean-Clair Todibo. After joining on loan from Nice last season.

The France international left Nice to join West Ham on an initial loan deal at the start of the 2024/25 campaign. That loan deal included an obligation to make the move permanent for a fee of €39m.

The clause was valid so long as West Ham secured their top-flight status, as they did. With the three promoted sides making the drop straight back down to the EFL Champions. With the season over, that clause has been activated and his move to the London Stadium has been made permanent.

The 25-year-old centre-back made 29 appearances in all competitions since moving to the London Stadium. Picking up an injury midway through the campaign and starting 12 of the final 13 Premier League games.

“West Ham United can confirm that Jean-Clair Todibo will leave Nice on a permanent basis on 1 July, subject to terms agreed with the Ligue 1 side,” the statement said.
